Designer. Architect. Entrepreneur. Technocrat. Social worker. These are the many facets of Jimmy Mistry, the 36-year-old MD and principal designer of the design and build firm Della Tecnica. Mistry started Della Tecnica with just six people in 1996. Today, 10 years hence, he is leading a 1100-people strong team, while Della Tecnica is biggest name in corporate space solutions, with clientele that includes Bajaj, UB, Sahara, Star, KPMG etc.

Add to that the fact that he is also the recipient of many awards – Young Design Practice Award by Indian Institute of Interior Design; Udyog Rattan Award by Institute of Economic Studies; and the Young Achiever Award by Indo-American Society in the Business Leaders category – to name a few.

Also the recipient of the prestigious Urban Heritage Architect’s Award by Indian Heritage Society for renovation of Rustom Faramna Agiary, this award was the first public acknowledgement of his efforts towards community service and the beginning of his efforts towards community service. And soon after, Jimmy founded the Parsi Resource Group.

However, Jimmy’s passion for his community does not end here. He wants to reach out to every Parsi. And this has led him to stand for the BPP elections due in October this year. He feels that BPP will not only give him the reach to more Parsis in understanding and resolving their issues but also enable him to be in a position where he can also get into the system and fill in the loopholes.

Jimmy’s passion towards community service may not seem comprehensible to some, but the fact remains that great advances in society are always achieved by people with an almost fanatical devotion to finding solution to a problem. And when there is a commitment to achieve, there is only one way – to the top.
