The Mobeds are the pillars of the community and yet no trust attempts to understand what the impact of the quality of their impoverished lifestyle has on their professional services. The need of the hour is to make a tangible difference to the lives of priests who Parsis expect to perform like a CEO, but pay like paupers. The group aims to enhance the quality of their services by devising schemes that aid their life and making a positive difference to the lives of their children.

PRG aims to promote the welfare of the Mobeds by enhancing and value-adding to their lifestyle. The group also ensures the welfare of the generation-in-waiting.

Mobeds 2nd Association programme at Palankote Hall

March 4, 2006
A momentous occasion the First Mobeds Association Program was launched at the ITC Hotel Mumbai. It was also the occasion when the first directory of the Mobeds was successfully launched with an extensive database.

October 13, 2006
To take the Mobeds’ cause further, a second association program was held at Palamkote Hall, Mumbai. The schemes were discussed in detail and followed by a short skit enacted by PRG volunteers. The skit was both entertaining and created a lot of bonhomie even as it had a strong and effective message.

Mobed's Pension Scheme
PRG is very conscious of its social responsibility and the Mobed Pension scheme is top priority on its list. 205 Mobeds who are over 65 years of age and have served the community for more than 25 years as practicing Mobeds have been receiving their monthly pension cheques @ Rs 2000 each from the PRG. Rs 4.10 lakhs per month has been disbursed since July 1, 2006.

Cashless Mediclaim Policy
PRG has also taken a health initiative as far as the Mobes are concerned. A special group 'Cashless Mediclaim policy' for over a 1111 including their families have been covered for up to Rs 2,00,000 each. This scheme also covers all pre-existing diseases as well as cancer. Rs 20 lakhs per annum has been disbursed for the period 2006 – 2007.

The Mobeds' Children Education Sponsorship
80 Mobeds children are divided into two groups of (birth - 17 years) and (17-24 years) respectively and are provided with an educational sponsorship on a case-to-case basis after a detailed analysis, keeping in mind certain parameters. A volunteer is attached to each case. Approximately Rs 2,000 per child has been allocated. To date Rs 6,79,000 has been disbursed towards this honorable project. 77 Outstaion Mobeds children have been identified. Funds need to be disbursed.

PRO Mobeds Scheme
This innovative scheme is waiting to be launched, depending on the inflow of funds. Sampurna Mobeds performing Pav Mahel Kriya Kam need to be motivated and suitably rewarded to continue performance of rituals and the highest latheurgical ceremonies. Young Mobeds need to be trained and dedicated to community service via a series of specially designed community service training programmes conducted by various successful socio-religious groups, corporate trainers and visionaries dedicated to the cause of community service. Approximately 25 Mobeds will be taken under the umbrella of PRG and trained and motivated. About Rs 5000 per Mobed will be disbursed every month.
